The 2009-2010 NBA season is afoot and it’s time predict the award winners. Below, is a list of awards, the projected candidates, and the projected winners:
MVP:

Kobe will the MVP Award.
Candidates – Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard
Winner – Kobe Bryant wins his second MVP award. The MVP Award should go to the best player on the best team. I predict that the Lakers will be the best team and thus Kobe gets the award.
Rookie Of The Year:

Jennings gets the Rookie Of The Year Award.
Candidates – Blake Griffin (if he can could back strong from injury), Jonny Flynn, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Stephen Curry
Winner – Brandon Jennings wins here because this rookie point guard has adapted to the NBA game better than the other rookies. That year playing pro overseas definitely helped.
Defensive Player Of The Year:

When it comes to defense, KG is the man.
Candidates – Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, Ben Wallace, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Greg Oden, Joel Przybilla
Winner – Kevin Garnett wins for putting the Celtics back at the top of all team defensive categories. He is the heart and soul of the Celtics championship defense.
Sixth Man Of The Year:

Ben will shoot his way to the top.
Candidates - Mano Ginobili, Jamal Crawford, Ben Gordon, Paul Millsap, Allen Iverson (If he really comes off the bench)
Winner – Ben Gordon will win this award. He will lead his team (Detroit Pistons) in scoring and he will win games with clutch shooting.
Most Improved Player Of The Year:

Andrea Bargnani will improve across the board
Candidates – Channing Frye, Danilo Gallinari, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Yi Jianlian, Andrea Bargnani.
Winner – Andrea Bargnani wins this award. He will improve across the board, especially his scoring average and shooting percentages.
Come Back Player Of The Year:

KG wins another one.
Candidates – Jameer Nelson, Kevin Garnett, Elton Brand, Gilbert Arenas, Al Jefferson
Winner – Kevin Garnett wins because he has the greatest impact on his team. He is the difference between the Celtics winning another championship or going home early.

Tyreke Evans started out this season kind of slow, but he has turned it around and he is playing great basketball. He is making a strong case for winning the Rookie Of The Year Award. A couple of months ago, everyone, including myself were predicting that Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks would win Rookie [...]

This “Top 10″ list is for players currently in the NBA. One day I may do a “Top 10″ list of the best NBA nicknames of all time. To get on the this list, a NBA player must have a unique nickname. Bill in place of William will not cut it, sorry. This [...]

We are still in the early part of the season. Teams are still trying to establish an identity and players are trying to establish chemistry with their teammates. There has been one coach firing and one trade since the season began. Now is the time to start talking about NBA All Stars. I’m going to [...]

Brandon Jennings put up video game numbers against the Golden State Warriors. He had 55 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. Very impressive, although not too hard to believe since Golden State is not much of a defensive team. Jennings had his way after going scoreless in the first quarter. He was able to score [...]

Reserve Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum had an excellent game against the Charlotte Bobcats. He scored 16 points in 21 minutes. He shot 5-6 from the field and chipped in 4 assist. But the highlight of the night was his dunk on Tyson Chandler. He just posterized him. Bynum is listed at 6 feet, but [...]

The San Antonio Spurs earned a very impressive win over an improving Toronto Raptors team. The Raptors had six players in double figures headlined by their big three Chris Bosh, Hedo Turkoglu, and Andrea Bargnani. Usually, if the Raptors can get 32 points and 10 rebounds from Chris Bosh, 20 points from Hedo Trukoglu, and [...]

2K Sports didn’t give the cover of 2K10 to Kobe Bryant for nothing. Kobe Bryant is leading the league in scoring with 33.2 points a game after last night’s 41 point performance, and he is a lock for online betting. Last night’s game against the Houston Rockets was Kobe’s second 41 point game of the [...]

During the Piston’s glory years, Big Ben Wallace was the heart and soul of the team. He represented the defensive identity of the Detroit Pistons. He helped lead the Pistons to four straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances, two NBA Finals appearances and one NBA Championship. Then he let a lot of fans down by going [...]

I’m upset to say the least. I’m a Pistons fan and they are off to a rocky start. Richard “Rip” Hamilton is going to miss his third game of the season, which makes matters worse. The Pistons lost both of the games that he missed previously to lowly teams. The first loss was to the [...]

When talking about the top players from the 2003 NBA Draft, Carmelo Anthony’s name seems to get lost among the likes of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. Why? He is just as talented and has not missed the playoffs since he’s been in the league (a distinction that James, Wade, and Bosh do [...]
