Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers.

Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers.

Where’s the love for the pride of Indiana Pacers’ Basketball? That pride being all wrapped up in Danny Granger.  The former University Of New Mexico star has been tearing up the courts for the last couple of years but it seems as if his efforts have gone unnoticed.  He’s a true baller and he deserves more recognition.   So far, he’s been the second best small forward in the east statistically.  His scoring average of 25.4 points a game is good for eighth in the league.   Last year, Granger was 5th in the league in scoring (25.8 points per game).  Currently, Granger is one of only four small forwards listed in the top 10 in scoring average (They are Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Danny Granger; in that order) and at only 26 years old, his best years are still ahead of him.

Granger going up for the slam.

Granger going up for the slam.

I’m campaigning for Danny Granger to make the 2009-2010 NBA All Star team.   He won’t be an All Star based on fan votes (because nobody watches or cares about the Pacers), but the coaches should vote him in as a reserve.   The Pacers are not a good team but somehow Granger has them playing above five hundred ball (The Pacers are 5-4) including a win over the Boston Celtics in which Granger scored 29 points.

Granger gets better every year and he won the Most Improved Player Award last year after going from a 2007-2008 season average of 19.6 points a game to a 2008-2009 season average of 25.8 points a game.   This year, Granger is posting career highs in rebounds (about 7 a game) and steals (about 2 a game).

If you need more proof that Danny Granger is the man, don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.
